Apprentice Pastry Chefs
Pasticceria Papa is seeking two motivated and willing to learn apprentices who are motivated to attend TAFE and work to gain their certificate in Retail Baking. You will gain knowledge of baking (biscotti, sweets, cakes – all things Italian).
The ideal candidates will need to meet the following requirements:
- Willing to attend TAFE and work on a daily basis
- Able to complete tasks and assignments as assigned by TAFE
- Able to take instructions
- Enthusiastic and quick leaner
- The ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to and an eye for detail
- A positive and enthusiastic attitude
- Previous skills in baking is desired but not neccessary
All candidates preferred to be a Citizen of Australia or a permanent resident.

Breakfast Chef
Pasticceria Papa is seeking a motivated and experienced Breakfast Chef to work at our Haberfield location. The Breakfast Chef liases with the Head Chef on a daily basis with regard to the breakfast service period. Meeting the needs of the customers and the requirements of the Company’s WHS Management System at all times. The position requires someone who is able to work weekends.
Duties and Tasks:
- Able to plan breakfast menus for the restaurant
- Able to order and estimate cost of supplies
- Able to plan labour costs
- Able to supervise and teach when necessary kitchen staff
- Demonstrate passion for ongoing training and learning showing techniques to staff
- Able to prepare and cook quality food for Breakfast period
- Able to plate food with the required portion and utilise skills of presenting a plate of high quality to our customers with all the garnishes, sauces and gravies available for the dish.
- Able to know how to store food in proper temperatures to enable safe food to be used
- Able to prepare food for customers with special dietary requirements
- Able to work in a team environment and select and train new staff when required
- Able to discuss food preparation issues with Managers, kitchen and waiting staff
- Monitors dishes at all stages of the cooking and preparation and presentation process
- Able to explain and enforce hygiene regulations to all staff
- All candidates must have current Australian Working Rights

Waiter/Waitress
We are looking for an experienced waiter/waitress in our Haberfield location. The successful applicant will work in our Restaurant and Pasticceria as part of the role.
As an Italian Restaurant knowledge of Italian cuisine would be a benefit.
Our Venue kitchen focus on quality driven produce, strong Italian heritage and value cohesion.
To be considered for this role you must have:
- at least two years experience as a waiter/waitress in a busy restaurant
- be customer focused
- being an Australian citizen or permanent resident preferred
- excellent English skills a must to be able to communicate with our customers
- be able to advise customers on dishes
- Be able to work as a team
- able to work all shifts Monday to Sunday
Cafe Staff
Pasticceria Papa are looking for experienced cake shop/cafe assistant to fill permanent and casual positions at our Haberfield store. You must be able to work any day of the week. Duties will include but are not limited to
Serving customers, set up, preparation and close of cake/cafe section, some cleaning, taking cake orders.
Applicants must be able to work both individually and as a team, should have initiative, a positive attitude and high standards of personal hygiene.
Requirements:
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Minimum 2 years professional experience working in a cake shop / cafe.
- Excellent understanding and speaking of fluent English.
- Australian Resident or Australian Citizen(preferred)

Barista/Bar Person
Pasticceria Papa is seeking an experienced Barista / Bar person for our Italian Café and Restaurant in Haberfield. Must have Responsible Service Alcohol (RSA) qualifications and cocktail experience.
The Café and Restaurant are fast paced and can be very busy at different times throughout the day.
Customer Service is considered a high quality with our staff.
The successful applicant will be willing to work a variety of shifts including weekends and public holidays if open.
Essential requirements of the successful applicant are:
- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role
- Must be able to make coffees
- Must be able to mix cocktails
- Must have Responsible Services Alcohol (RSA) qualifications
- Ability to work both in a team environment and individually to deliver drinks of excellent and consistent quality
